Simms and Saints Sunday

The kids loved jumping into and playing in the giant leaf pile they created.

Hot chocolate to warm everyone up after a trip to the playground!

Even though the Saints were not victorious on Sunday, we still had a ton of fun with Meme, Gee, and the Simms family. They brought up some delicious hamburgers, and we had a cookout and enjoyed the beautiful weather!

We had quite a busy Christmas day! First we woke up to a barking seal (Tyndale). Apparently, Santa brought him a case of croup! He had a fever and was feeling pitiful, so we stressed for awhile about his sickness during a holiday...then we called the pediatrician phone service and our wonderful doctor, Dr. Braden, called to check on Tyndale and give us further instructions. (He toughed it out for Christmas day and we took him to the Dr office the next morning...diagnosis: croup and bronchitis..poor boo!) We all ran downstairs to see if Santa came...and he did! We were joined by Gimmie and Big Daddy as we opened our presents. Quinn got many of the things on her list including Baby Achoo and even a booster seat! Tyndale got a TON of cars and a case for them. Santa even surprised me with the camera that I have been DYING to get! I am officially paparazzi now! It is a Canon EOS 500D, and it is absolutely amazing! I look forward to learning more about it...this is a lifetime camera! We loaded up in the car (Quinn in her new seat) and went over to Big Daddy and Gimmie's house for a delicious breakfast. The fires were burning and the music was playing at their house, and it was a very cozy and festive scene. All of the kids opened some presents and played with them. We headed back to our house for nap, and then to meet Meme and Gee. As soon as Meme and Gee arrived we... yes! opened more presents! That night we all went back over to Big Daddy and Gimmie's house for dinner. Big Daddy cooked a masterpiece of a main dish, as evidenced by the picture above. And the sides were awesome too! Smashed potatoes, asparagus, gravy, and some wonderful bread pudding made by Mrs. Beverly. The kids even cleaned their plates! We are so thankful for these special family memories!

Christmas Eve

As has become our Christmas Eve tradition, we traveled to Kristy and Noel's house and enjoyed family fun and wonderful food. The kids played together all day...except Tyndale, whose favorite playmate was Daisy! We ate a delicious dinner...WAY too much food. Then Nonnie read the Christmas story from the Bible, and Noel read "Twas the Night Before Christmas." Then Meme helped the kids spread some reindeer food on the lawn. Quinn and Tyndale were "all snug in their"...carseats...and then eventually beds.

Eve of the Eve

We celebrated the Eve of the Eve again this year, with very festive tacky sweaters and even some karaoke. Mark started us of with a little "Billie Jean," as if he had been waiting his whole life to sing that song! We had great gumbo and a ton of other delicious food items. A great time was had by all!

Santa reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Sara Rodgers' Honey had a Sugar Plum Spectacular party and it was so fun! The house was decorated so beautifully, and both Quinn and I were able to visit with many friends. They had delicious food, and candy everywhere! Santa even visited and handed out goodie bags and then read "Twas the night before Christmas." What a fun night!

Parnell family visit

We had an unexpected treat this week, as the Parnells came by to visit! It was great to catch up with Nicole and the kids.
