will you be my valentine?

Pulling into the driveway Tuesday afternoon, Quinn and I noticed something furry next to the door on the back porch. We pulled into the garage, and Quinn RAN to see what it was.....this:

How precious is he?? He acts like he has lived here since he was born! We think that he might be someone's lost puppy, and we have put an ad in the paper. I took him to the vet yesterday to get him cleaned up and given shots, etc. They couldn't tell for sure, but thought he looked just like a full-blooded lab puppy. We are not prepared to have a dog...no fence, no doghouse, no leash, no knowledge of dogs...but he doesn't seem to mind. Quinn is so excited. She told me last night, "I asked God to send me a puppy when I turn ten...and he sent me one NOW!" We have told her over and over that we are just taking care of him until we can find a home for him, but we are all falling in love with him!

Pajama Day

Quinn and her wonderful teachers, Mrs. Pam and Mrs. Theresa.

Quinn's class had a pajama day at school. This week they are working on the letter 'p' and they have had such fun! Popcorn, pretzels, pringles, picnics, pets, a pig parade around the school, a penguin pinata, and so much more. Today is SAINTS day! (Ok, so that has nothing to do with a P, but everyone is so fired up around here!) Outside of school, we had a visit from a P-uppy...and someone we know is P-regnant! More on both of those later...can you stand to wait?

February craft

We have already started our February craft...but it is a gift for some blog readers, so here is just a quick peek! More to come later....

First Official Spend the Night Company- Hadley!

Quinn was thrilled to have her first spend-the-night company tonight! Hadley and Kristy met us in Crystal Springs at the McDonald's (how fancy) and we ate lunch and caught up. Then Hadley came with us for the night. They loved on Tyndale for awhile....

then they played with makeup...
on the way to Brookhaven, Hadley said that she really needed a fleur de lis shirt because she is a Saints fan, and I thought that was a great idea! We bought some shirts and here they are modeling them....looks like pretty tough competition! Watch out Colts!

Yummy popcorn snack pre-movie. We went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel," where the girls actually ate MORE popcorn...and nachos too!
Then a "Hadley-pick" dinner of chicken drumsticks by the fire that Daddy made! Yummy and warm! Oh, and they ate their tater tots with chopsticks!?!

Then a pre-bedtime movie...look closely...can you tell who it is? Yes....Mary Kate and Ashley. Hope that Kristy and Noel let Hadley come back for another spend the night, especially after the Olsen-twin movie!

the scoop

I wanted to share the results of my MRI yesterday. I have a ruptured (or herniated) disc in the lumbar area of my spine. It looks a bit like the picture above on the right (oh, except for the fact that my bones are not purple and discs are not mustard yellow!) . That yellow part would be the part that is pressing on the nerve. I can't say that I am exactly happy to hear this news, but I am happy that I don't have to have an immediate surgery. My doctor is wonderful, and we decided to take the path of physical therapy, stretches and overall core strengthening. So for the next few weeks I will be starting physical therapy and healing. I think the hardest part is not being able to pick up Tyndale - besides it being an organizational thing (planning for nap, in and out of the crib)- I just miss holding him! He gives me kisses all the time and crawls up in my lap, but it's just not the same. I feel less pain everyday, and that is sooooo good! I'll keep yall posted.

update

For a little over a week now I have been dealing with some pretty tough back pain. I have been having this problem for two years now on and off, so I figured that it was time that I finally see someone about it. Sooo...on Friday I went here...

and talked to a doctor and took some x-rays. I go back next Tuesday for an MRI and another appointment with him to see what the problem is and what we need to do about it. Yes, it scares me that his name is listed under DIVISION of SURGERY above...hopefully it won't come to that. But every cloud has a silver lining, as they say, and I got to eat some yummy sushi with Kristy right after my appointment! We are already planning for where we will eat Tuesday.... :)

an open letter to Mama and Daddy from Tyndale

You know that I am pretty easy-going and laid-back...but seriously, could you please cut my hair?

I think that I would look really cute with a bowl cut...
something....anything....
seriously.....

Photoshoot...the good stuff

So I did get a few shots that I really liked...

Behind the scenes -- photoshoot

Since the weather was so beautiful today, Tyndale and I headed outside for some exploring and pictures. He is such a boy it cracks me up! Here is a rough picture schedule of our outdoor time:
Let's start with eating a rock...

then dig in the flowerpots...

pick it up....

and dump it out...

playing in more dirt....

playing with gas cans (not really)....

looking at his shadow...

sitting in a pile of wet leaves...

looking into the trash can (Brad is cringing)...

and eating acorns he found on the ground.

Such a boy! I love it!

New Cullen in the family...

(Sorry...couldn't resist the Twilight reference!) We have been seeing a lot of THIS face lately...

...because Tyndale is getting his K9 teeth in. Poor baby! These seem to be way more painful than the molars! Hang in there T!
