St. Simons family trip

I have had an all-out battle with the photo uploader and I am sorry to say that I have been defeated! I am going to try to put my OCD aside and allow these pictures to be out of order....ugh! I would just upload them again, but this was my third time, and it has taken forever...so here they are...please bear with me!
We had a wonderful week in St. Simons Island for family trip! We originally had planned to go to the gulf coast, but because of the oil we rescheduled at the last minute to one of our favorite spots..SSI! We packed the week full of non-stop fun stuff like...

...the Sea Turtle Center on Jeckyl Island where we all got to follow the life of a sea turtle from birth on.
This is the sea turtle hospital area where they take care of the turtles that have been injured or are sick. Once they rehabilitate them they release them back into the wild. They had about 20 sea turtles in here and one of the museum workers walked around and told about each one.

Here is Tyndale enjoying the beach. We spent a ton of time on the beach and in the water, although I don't have many pictures of this time. My camera would fog up each time I took it outside because of the humidity, so many of my outside pictures look foggy, and I didn't take that many for that reason.
Here are the kids at the super-duper new pool down near the Village. As you can see, it has tons of slides and water guns, etc...they had a ball here (until Hadley bit her tongue...that is why she is upset).

..one ice pop later and Hadley rebounded quite well, don't you think? The girls loved this part of the playground.

Mullet Bay...a longtime family favorite restaurant....

...however not everyone was a fan. Tyndale had such a busy day that he didn't think Mullet Bay was all that much fun!
Everyone else was all smiles after dinner, though, because we were going....

...mini-golfing!!!

It was really beautiful to be there right as the sun was setting and the lighthouse came on! Gee was the overall winner. The kids really loved mini-golf, and we decided that next time we would go to a really tacky one...with the windmills and waterfalls and moving animals...how much would they love THAT?
Both pictures above are from popcorn and movie night...looks cozy to me! The flick? Toy Story.

Enjoying snow cones under the huge oak tree downtown. Look at Aunt Lindy's belly..so cute!

I love how Tyndale is laughing at his goofy daddy in this picture, but I also laughed that Mom seems to be "dog-sitting" Blue Boy!
The kids on the rocks in front of our house.
The girls teaching Tyndale body parts.

Look at the starfish we caught!
Meme and the release crew...we would let our visiting ocean friends (starfish, hermit crabs, sand dollars, etc) go each night at high tide.

The pool at Beach Club...the coolest place to be...literally!

We spent some time at the Sea Island outpost on St. Simons...here are the kids in front of the fountain there.

Doesn't this just look like a disaster waiting to happen? It didn't, fortunately.
The kayak-saving celebrities

We also went to Sea Island to the Cloister. It was so beautiful! Brad said that I was like a japanese tourist, but everytime I turned around there was something beautiful that I wanted a picture of!

Tyndale especially liked these birds in the atrium...and this was my favorite spot in the whole place...check out the glass roof! Plus, there was coffee, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the Brunswick paper to enjoy...what more could you ask for?
Hadley and Quinn thought it was so fun that the fireplace was taller than they were!

The library...Brad's favorite room.
Here is Tyndale eating a lemon at Barbara Jean's...another family favorite restaurant on SSI. Their pumpkin bread and crabcakes are to die for!

The kids in front of Barbara Jeans.
Here they are in front of the beach down by the Village.
...and on a cannon near the lighthouse.

...and isn't it just right that these pictures should END with the ones taken at the BEGINNING of the trip? UGH!! The one above is of the kids after a long car trip to Tallahassee. We stayed at our favorite spot there and the kids were happy to be out of the car...can you tell? Tyndale, our master of all things with buttons, is manning not only the phone, but the remote too...that's my boy! This night we ate at our favorite sushi place in Tally...Masa...so delicious and even the kids loved it. It was a fun way to kick off the week.
The next morning we watched hot air balloons glide in the air over the lake...see that tiny dot? That's one of the balloons. We had a fun-filled week with sand, sun, shopping, family, gumbo and other delicious meals, key lime pie, pool days and afternoon naps....what a perfect vacation!
